The Background

CuPlas Callow is one of the Island’s premium plumber’s merchants, helping local customers with their bathroom and shower needs and supplying both trade and retail customers with plumbing and heating materials out of their Braddan showroom.

The Challenge

CuPlas were looking to update their telephony solution and email service. Their previous phone system was reliant on the ISDN network, outdated infrastructure that was proving costly and unreliable. With the telephone system critical to daily business operations, a reliable telephony connection was of paramount importance to company productivity.

CuPlas were also looking for a user-friendly and easy-to-manage business email to communicate with customers and suppliers. Again, as a business-critical function, the solution needed to be reliable, dependable, and accessible to all employees.

The Solution

To ensure CuPlas were equiped with reliable and cost-effective telephony, we delivered a fully Hosted PBX solution. Unlike a traditional phone system, a Hosted PBX is hosted in the Cloud and delivers calls over the internet using VoIP, covering all incoming and outbound calls, voice mail and an IVR system. We also provided new handsets for employees and migrated all their inbound telephone numbers and managed the transition to the new systems.

To solve their connectivity concerns, we installed two new broadband solutions for them – a fibre broadband service and a copper broadband back-up service to improve connectivity and provide a solution to the outages it had been previously experiencing. All the company telephony, data and line of business applications are run over these services.

For a user-friendly email service, we equipped Cu Plas with Microsoft 365, which included Microsoft Outlook, as well as Microsoft Teams and the Office productivity suite.

 

The Result

Offering the company unified management and expert support for all their solutions, our hosted PBX, connectivity solutions and managed Microsoft 365 service enable CuPlas to drive their business forward.

Our hosted PBX has successfully enhanced their business capabilities through modern phone sets and advanced call-control features. By routing the telephony system over the internet rather than traditional ISDN lines, we could improve the connection while reducing call costs to local and UK numbers and providing built-in disaster recovery and business continuity. Through Elite Group IOM’s managed service contract, the business can rest easy knowing that it has the latest security patches installed, and back-up if its broadband fails.

Our Microsoft 365 solution provides an integrated productivity suite and reliable email service for Cu Plas, allowing them to send and receive emails, but also providing advanced functionalities such as scheduling meetings, integrated personal calendar, presence indication and automatic out-of-office replies.

Thanks to our IT and unified communication solutions, CuPlas’ own IT Manager now only has to deal with one provider for all their services, so they have more time to provide an improved service to customers and focus on more strategic IT and communications activity.
